Art in the Eye of a Needle

In the art world, big is usually better.  Willard Wigan, however, is going against the grain with his micro-sculptures.   His exhibition at the Parish Gallery in Georgetown, Art in the Eye of a Needle, does exactly what it says, displaying shockingly detailed sculptures smaller than little peas.

Wigan uses microscopes, bright lights, and pinpointed tools to create this little masterpieces, working only at night to avoid the vibrations of traffic.  He started making micro-sculptures when he was a child. "I started to believe ants needed a place to live," he said.  Check out more of Wigan's works HERE

David Choe: Lazarides Grifter's Show

David Choe & DVS showed up in London to take part in some urban decoration before their Dec. 4th opening at the Lazarides Gallery's group show.  The pair collaborated on the piece shown in the interview below, which sadly was buffed out almost immediately after the police stopped by.  Check out the clip for some shots of the dearly departed piece and some thoughts by Choe and his process.

Although the piece above is no longer with us, Choe has brushed it off and seems ready for another go:

"it's cold and raining in the UK, but we dont give a fuck, me and DVS went out yesterday and painted this, it got buffed out in less than a day, but we don't give a fuck, we'll just eat beans and toast and bangers and mash and go all out and do it all over again"

See below for some images of what they did after the bangers and mash.
